Poor judgement

A 24-year-old Kitchener man has been charged after an incident in which an elementary school was locked down on Wednesday after a topless man was seen practising martial arts at the playground, armed with a stick.

Police were called to Notre Dame School on Rosemount Drive in Kitchener after school staff reported the man. Students were locked down for their safety, police said.

It was a case of poor judgment in terms of where to practise martial arts, said Staff Sgt. Gary Haffner. A man has been charged with mischief -- interfering with lawful enjoyment of property, causing a disturbance and two counts of breach of probation.
