Steroids

It is not just baseball where steroid talk is a problem.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is a rising phenomenon in sports. UFC, for short, is a mixed martial arts promotion that combines every type of fighting from boxing to wrestling to Jiu-Jitsu into one competitive sport.

Stephan Bonnar, 29, is one of the UFC's most popular up and coming superstars. After a decision loss to friend Forrest Griffin, Bonnar tested positive for Boldenone Metabolite, an anabolic steroid mainly used for treatment of horses.

Bonnar is not the only UFC fighter to test positive for steroids.

Josh Barnett, 28, became the youngest UFC Heavyweight Champion ever when he defeated Randy Couture in March 2002. Barnett was later stripped of the title for failing a drug test.

"This problem is not going away,"said Julie Veen, a doctor in White Plains, N.Y. "Not only are steroids damaging to your body, but they can ruin your career. There's no need for any athlete or anyone period to use any illegal supplements."
