Canada -- The Supreme Court has struck down key elements of the security certificate system used by the federal government to detain and deport foreign-born terrorist suspects. Five men stand accused of terrorist links under the certificates.
One of the men is Adil C. He's 33, married, two children. Native of Morocco. Former University of Montreal student, karate instructor, pizzeria operator. Arrested in 2003 in Montreal, freed on bail with strict conditions in 2005.
He is accused by CSIS of membership in Moroccan Islamic Combatant Group which has ties to al-Qaida and a history of terrorist attacks in Morocco and Spain. CSIS also clams Ahmed R., convicted in 2001 of plotting to blow up Lost Angeles International Airport, identified Charkaoui as someone he met at an al-Qaida training camp in Afghanistan - a contention denied by Charkaoui. He says CSIS once tried to recruit him as an informant and promised to make trouble if he refused. He says he's now being framed by Canadian and Moroccan intelligence.

Korean ssirum
South Korea's traditional brand of wrestling, called ssirum, has a lot in common with Japan's national sport sumo. Both are centuries old, steeped in tradition and feature jumbo-sized wrestlers battling in a small circle.
While sumo is flush with cash, fans and name recognition, however, ssirum is facing a financial crisis, an organizational crisis, an identity crisis -- in short, just a whole lot of trouble.

Whipped
An 8-year-old Greenwood boy was reportedly whipped with a stick at a local karate school, and the school’s chief instructor and the boy’s mother are facing charges stemming from the incident.
According to an incident report, the father said he recently learned his son had been getting into some trouble at school. He said his ex-wife, the boy’s mother, had given the karate instructor permission to punish the child, and he said the boy claimed the instructor had whipped him with a long stick.
