In Greece, weddings, parties and karate lessons would become tax deductible under a new law aimed at cracking down on rampant tax evasion and reducing the country's fiscal deficit.
Presenting the draft legislation, the Greek Minister of Finance said yesterday more personal expenses will be tax deductible to encourage Greeks to ask for more receipts.
"Cracking down on tax evasion is a top priority: it is a phenomenon that results in social injustice and constitutes a very serious crime," he said.
