A Martial Arts Gang

Spain -- Spanish police are questioning four British martial arts "experts", aged between 40 and 55, following a kidnap and extortion attempt in Tarifa, southern Spain.

The British victim -- described as a "law-abiding man without criminal links" by Spanish police -- was reportedly rescued by shoppers as the four men bundled him into a car outside a resort supermarket, according to guardian.co.uk.

According to Spanish police, the four martial arts "experts" belong to a criminal organisation. Police said the believe the men travelled form the UK to collect an extortion "debt" on behalf of a criminal paymaster.

This story is a complete fabrication! I know the victim, Carlos Gurrea, and he is far from "law abiding"...in fact he is wanted in the UK for many counts of auto theft, credit card fraud, and thousands of pounds of unpaid debt & stolen items bought on credit.

...and also I believe the "crime lord" in the UK you mention is a 70 yr old lady whom Carlos made remortgage her house before disappearing to Spain (in his Porsche 911 he "borrowed" from the UK on HP...oh & a Mercedes Sprinter, stolen from Herz!)

as the for the martial arts experts, a few fat middle aged men sent to speak with him (without weapons) regarding paying back this old lady!....

Spain is a magnet for Brits on the run!....The press should check it's facts before listening to corrupt Police in Spain...who are incidentally ...Carlos' drinking buddies in Tarifa!!...Nice to have the law on your side!!

Thanks for your comment!

One of the main purposes of this blog is to monitor what the media writes about the martial arts.

And if what you say here is true, then someone really needs to have a chat with these reporters...

And, yes, most people tagged as "martial arts masters" in media is far from that :-)

Please feel free to update us with any new information!

I too know Carlos Gurrea and can concur that he is far from law abiding. He fled the UK ten months ago to escape debts and enemies that he had created.

How this story has been so misrepresented alarms me - but we should believe everything we hear/read I guess. It is more worrying that Carlos seems to escape the karma and justice he deserves.

I too know the said "Law abiding citizen" Carlos Gurrea and agree that the story is pure fabrication. He has left a string of debts in the UK and fled to Spain. I think I may contact the Observer from which this article came and enlighten them!

Again thanks for the comments!

And it would really seem like a good idea to write these good-for-nothing so-called reporters.

Best of luck!
