A Disturbing Karate Video

Update (September 4, 2009): Police said the victim in this video was not killed. While the video appears to be real, the Dumfries Police Department confirmed that the victim was interviewed after the incident.

Authorities said the man, who was a vagrant who lived in the area, declined to pursue charges.
If the video had surfaced in 1984, authorities said, they would have pursued an investigation.

California -- A six minute video, called "shocking and disturbing" by authorities, has caught the attention of police in Hanford.

The video, shot 25 years ago in Virginia, is now reportedly spreading on the Internet. It is showing how a karate instructor orders a student to seriously beat and potentially kill a mentally challenged man.

The Hanford Chief of Police said "It is such a disturbing video and whether it's real or not that still needs to be confirmed."

The footage was supposedly taken on December 13, 1984 at a karate school reportedly owned by a man who may now be living in Hanford.
