New Jersey -- Three township police officers and a local karate instructor are credited with saving the life of a 13-year-old boy who went into cardiac arrest during karate class Saturday morning in Hamilton, acording to nj.com.
The boy was participating in exercises at karate institute around 11:30 a.m. Without warning, he fell to the floor unresponsive in front of the class.
The female instructor could not detect the young student's pulse, so she started performing CPR while a 911 call was made.
Three officers arriving shortly after applied a defibrillator. After one shock, the boy's heart restarted.
