California -- On November 7, 2008, an 18-year-old Shingletown resident accused of trying to kill his mother was given a five-year suspended prison sentence, according to redding.com.
The teenager was arrested when he was 17 on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the attack on his mother.
Investigators said that he grabbed his mother from behind at her home and attempted to break her neck.
The teenager, who reportedly has a background in martial arts, was mad at his mother because she locked his computer in her car as a punishment because of his behavior.
